Health-care innovation
In cooperation with Voswiz we are focusing an increasing part of our time on information management and innovation in the primary health-care sector.
The health-care sector in the Netherlands is changing rapidly. From a situation where general physicians are operating as independent individuals, primary health-care is changing into a situation where multiple health-care provider of different disciplines cooperate and create joint primary health-care centres where a pharmacy, several general practitioners, physio therapists and others operate jointly, in increasing numbers even under the supervision of an overall director. These centres have a need for management information about their patients and health-care to make decisions and plans for better and more efficient health-care.
Apart from this trend, insurance companies are getting a larger influence in the (financial) management of these centres.
Although the need is clearly rising to gather all sorts of information about the patient population of such health-care centres, the information systems that most general practitioners use for registering data on their patients are mainly focused on treating individual patients and provide no or limited functionality for providing managers with the required data.
Voswiz and Elcyon are helping health-care centres in identifying the needs they have on their data and finding new and innovative solutions to provide these needs. Our main focus is in a bottom-up approach. We helping these health-care centres with their needs, whether this means just installing preexisting software and training them in using it, or whether this means developing new (web-based) applications for reporting management information.
As an extra focus we are often thinking of new ways to bring the geographical variable into the equation by linking patients to their addresses and perform analyses on geospatial relationships in the data.
